What is the minimum age to apply for The Doon School?

The Doon School admits boys at two points: Class VII and Class VIII. After Class VIII, no admissions are made under any circumstances.
The age requirements are straightforward, measured as of September in the year of the entrance examination:
For Class VII (D Form): a boy must be above 11 and below 12 years of age. For Class VIII (C Form): above 12 and below 13 years.
Boys who do not clear the examination at the Class VII stage are welcome to try again for Class VIII, provided they still fall within the age band.
One thing families often overlook: registration itself is open from birth. And since the registration fee increases with the child’s age, from Rs. 12,000 at birth to Rs. 36,000 between ages 11 and 13, there is a clear practical advantage to registering early.
Because registration fees increase with age, families who are seriously considering Doon often register early. The earlier the conversation begins, the better placed every family is when the examination year arrives.
