Urgent Move: Top Dehradun Boarding Schools Respond to Rising India-Pak Tensions

Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, leading Dehradun boarding schools—including The Doon School and Welham Girls’—have allowed students to return home after numerous parent requests.

In an email to parents on Thursday evening, The Doon School Headmaster Jagpreet Singh assured them that the campus would remain “safe and secure” but acknowledged that many parents were concerned about potential flight disruptions.

“As a result, the School has decided to permit all boys whose parents wish to have them back home to depart from campus starting at 6.00 am on Friday, May 9,” the email stated. Parents choosing this option have been advised to coordinate with their child’s housemaster.
