Introduction

The college was established to give the Indian aristocracy, who had deep cultural roots, access to contemporary education. Designed by Mr. Lockwood Kipling, father of the renowned Rudyard Kipling, the Mayo College Coat of Arms was created. All minor injuries are addressed with first aid, and children who are sick during the school day can access a well-equipped medical centre.

There are enough beds at the hospital to handle overnight visitors. All of the students are escorted by an adult staff member in case they need to visit the hospital. The school has a dispensary, a sitting room, an isolation room, a dressing room, a doctor’s room, and three wards with forty beds. The school has two ambulances and drivers on hand to transfer children in an emergency to clinics or hospitals.

Mayo College Admission Process

  • Every year in the third week of November, the Common Aptitude Analysis for admission to Mayo College is held at several locations across India.

  • After informing the school of their availability, candidates from overseas are welcome to attend the interaction. Their wards may enroll in the school in July of the following year if they are unable to go on the appointed day.
  • Parents are required to indicate their acceptance of the admission within ten days.
  • Payment must be made in line with the terms of the offer letter upon acceptance.
  • The offer will be lost if it is accepted and then rejected. In addition to submitting a Transfer Certificate, students must have been promoted to the admissions class they are enrolling in by July of the same year.
  • If a student is asked to enroll on a given day without taking the final exam, they will need to present a Transfer Certificate of Promotion from the Previous Class.

Mayo College Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Only admissions up to Class IX are subject to the Common Aptitude Analysis.  Admission is determined by the Board’s Class X results for admission to Class XI.  We suggest that parents use the available past papers and the prospectus to help their children prepare.  The exam’s level of difficulty is accurately gauged by the papers.  When they discuss English, the goal is to assess the student’s command of the language, as well as their vocabulary, creative ideas, and fluency of expression, rather than to verify the norms of formal grammatical abilities.

  • Geometry: Recognizing two-dimensional shapes, such as triangles, squares, rectangles, and circles, involves counting the sides, corners, and diagonals of the different two-dimensional shapes to describe them.
