Mayo College, Ajmer, lifted the 5th Invitational U-13 Cricket Tournament trophy after an emphatic 91-run victory over Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, in the final held at Pinegrove School, Dharampur.
The four-day inter-school tournament saw spirited participation from leading boarding schools, including Mayo College (Ajmer), Bishop Cotton School (Shimla), Rajkumar College (Rajkot), and host school Pinegrove. The event aimed to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and young cricketing talent among students under the age of 13.
Batting first in the final, Mayo College put up an impressive total with disciplined shot selection and solid partnerships. Their bowlers later sealed the win, restricting Bishop Cotton School well short of the target. The victory margin of 91 runs reflected Mayo’s dominance throughout the tournament.
Adhiraj Jain of Mayo College was declared the Player of the Tournament for his consistent all-round performance. Other award winners included Angad Lather of Bishop Cotton School, who was named Best Batter, and Manan Aggarwal of Mayo College, who earned the Best Bowler title. Reyansh Agarwal from Mayo College was adjudged Best Fielder, while Neel Raj Singh from Rajkumar College, Rajkot, received the Best Upcoming Player award.
The closing ceremony was marked by applause for all teams, as coaches and organizers praised the competitive spirit and discipline shown by the young players. The event concluded with the message that tournaments like these play a crucial role in nurturing India’s next generation of cricketers.
